Return & Exchanges Policy
At The Née Vintage Store, we specialise in carefully selected pre-owned and vintage luxury goods, each with its own
history, character, and unique condition.
As all our items are pre-owned, signs of age, previous use, and natural wear are to be expected.
The condition, age, rarity, and overall preservation of each item are taken into consideration when determining its
selling price. Items of the same model may therefore vary significantly in price depending on their individual condition.
We encourage all customers to carefully review the item's condition, description, and characteristics before making a
purchase.
All sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges due to change of mind, personal preferences, or normal
characteristics and imperfections of pre-owned items that have been disclosed
before purchase.
This policy does not affect customers' statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
Vintage and pre-owned leather goods naturally experience changes in their appearance and condition over time.
Depending on their age, previous usage, storage conditions, and environmental exposure, these items may exhibit:
- Natural creasing, scratches, scuffs, and signs of wear.
- Colour variations, fading, or discolouration.
- Softening, dryness, stiffness, or changes in leather texture.
- Minor cracking, peeling, or deterioration of aged materials.
- Shape changes, deformation, or wear to stitching and hardware.
- Natural ageing of interior linings, coatings, adhesives, and other components.
Leather and other materials may also react to environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, moisture, and
prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Customers are advised to store and maintain their purchases appropriately to minimise further deterioration.
Normal ageing, disclosed imperfections, and subsequent deterioration resulting from improper storage, environmental exposure, or regular use are not grounds for returns or exchanges.
Vintage and pre-owned jewellery may show natural signs of ageing and previous wear.
Depending on the materials, construction, and age of each piece, customers should be aware of the following:
- Precious metals and metal alloys may develop scratches, tarnishing, oxidation, or discolouration.
- Gold-plated or other plated jewellery may experience gradual fading or wear of its surface coating.
- Vintage clasps, hinges, settings, and other components may exhibit signs of wear.
- Gemstones, pearls, and decorative elements may have natural imperfections or signs of previous use.
- Certain vintage materials may require more delicate handling and maintenance than modern jewellery.
Customers are encouraged to handle vintage jewellery carefully and avoid unnecessary exposure to water, chemicals,
perfumes, cosmetics, and excessive force.
Normal wear, ageing-related characteristics, and previously disclosed imperfections are not considered
grounds for returns or exchanges.
Damage resulting from accidental impact, improper handling, or misuse after purchase is also excluded from our voluntary returns and exchanges policy.
Vintage and pre-owned watches are valued for their craftsmanship, heritage, and unique character.
However, due to their age and previous usage, their performance and operating characteristics may differ from those of
modern watches.
Customers should understand the following before purchasing:
Mechanical & Manual-Winding Watches
Vintage mechanical watches may require regular winding to maintain operation.
Manual-winding watches must be wound by hand, while automatic watches rely on wrist movement and may also require
manual winding depending on the movement.
Due to their age, some vintage watches may have a shorter power reserve than modern watches and may require more frequent winding.
Timekeeping Accuracy
Vintage watches may not maintain the same level of timekeeping accuracy as modern watches.
Minor variations in timekeeping performance may occur due to the age, condition, and characteristics of the movement.
Quartz & Battery-Operated Watches
Vintage quartz watches require periodic battery replacement.
Battery life and performance may vary depending on the age and condition of the watch movement.
Water Resistance
Unless expressly confirmed otherwise, vintage watches should not be considered water-resistant, even if they were
originally manufactured with water-resistant specifications.
Customers are strongly advised to avoid exposing vintage watches to water, moisture, or excessive humidity.
General Care & Maintenance
Vintage watches may require more frequent servicing, maintenance, or adjustments than modern watches.
Customers are encouraged to understand the operating requirements and limitations of each watch before completing their
purchase.
Normal age-related characteristics disclosed limitations in timekeeping accuracy or power reserve, and maintenance
requirements are not grounds for returns or exchanges.
However, any concerns relating to potential mechanical defects or material discrepancies from the item's description will
be reviewed in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.
Third-Party Inspection, Repairs & Modifications
Customers are strongly advised to contact The Née Vintage Store before arranging any third-party inspection, servicing,
repair, or modification of their purchased watches.
Any unauthorised opening, dismantling, repair, adjustment, modification, or replacement of components by a third party
may alter the watch's original condition and performance.
The Née Vintage Store will not accept returns, exchanges, or claims arising from third-party interventions, including
any resulting damage, malfunction, or alteration to the watch.
Where a watch has been opened, serviced, repaired, or modified by a third party after purchase, we reserve the right to
decline voluntary returns, exchanges, or after-sales assistance, as its condition may no longer be verifiable against the condition at the time of sale.
This does not affect any statutory rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws.
We encourage customers to carefully inspect their selected items and seek clarification from our sales associates before completing their purchase.
For online purchases, customers are encouraged to review the product descriptions and photographs carefully and
contact us for additional information if required.
By completing a purchase, customers acknowledge that they have had the opportunity to review the item's condition
and relevant characteristics, including any imperfections or limitations disclosed before purchase.
Please ensure that you are comfortable with the item's condition and characteristics before proceeding with your purchase.
As a general policy, The Née Vintage Store does not accept returns or exchanges for:
- Change of mind or personal preferences.
- Normal wear and ageing characteristics of pre-owned items.
- Imperfections or limitations disclosed before purchase.
- Damage caused by improper handling, storage, maintenance, or misuse after purchase.
- Natural deterioration resulting from environmental exposure or continued use, where this does not constitute a defect present at the time of sale.
If you believe that an item has a material defect that was not disclosed before purchase, or that it differs materially from its description, please contact our customer service team with your purchase details.
Each enquiry will be reviewed based on the item's condition, purchase records, relevant disclosures, and applicable consumer protection laws.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any rights or remedies available to customers under applicable law.
We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy the unique character and history of your vintage purchase.
